“Forest Therapy” is a registered trademark. Therefore, please indicate the R mark so it will stand out or make a remark that“Forest Therapy” is a registered trademark of the Specified nonprofit corporation, Forest Therapy Society. For a magazine or newspaper interview, please contact us by E-mail. For an interview inquiry about a “Forest Therapy Base”, please contact the base directly for details.
Where can I experience “Forest Therapy” ?
You can experience “Forest Therapy” at any certified “Forest Therapy Base” or “Forest Therapy Road” across Japan. Also, for more information, you can visit any of the sessions which are offered to help answer your queries at our facilities or parks. Please check the facebook for more information.
When are the examinations held ?
The Forest Therapy Society decided to abolish the written examination from 2015 and change it to a correspondence style course. Hence, if you are interested in “Forest Therapy Guide” or “Forest Therapist” certification, please apply for the correspondence course accordingly. If you have passed the Level 2 previously, you can start taking the course from Level 1.
How do I become a “Forest Therapy Guide”?
After completing the correspondence course Level 2(41,580 yen), and by becoming a member of the Specified nonprofit corporation ,Forest Therapy Society, you will obtain your certification. The annual membership fee is 5,000 yen. For information regarding the correspondence course in detail, please visit the Certification page.
How do I become a “Forest Therapist”?
After completing the correspondence course for both Level 1 and 2, please attend the therapist certification workshop . Then by becoming a member of the Specified nonprofit corporation, Forest Therapy Society, you will obtain your certification. The annual membership fee is 5,000 yen. For information regarding the correspondence course in detail, please visit the Certification page.
Is there a validity period for the certification?
The renewal membership process is every three years for a“Forest Therapy Guide” and “Forest Therapist”. This can be completed by submitting the documents only.
How much dose it cost to certify a Forest Therapy Base?
This varies by location. Please contact the office for details by E-mail.
By focusing on the relaxing effects of being exposed to nature, we have conducted a number of physiology, psychology and physical experiments to examine the various influence on us. Based on our findings, we have started certification process for “Forest Therapy Base” and “Forest Therapy Road”across Japan. The “Forest Therapy” activities have recently gained interest as its practice has been officially recognized and higher awareness of health and stress management has occurred. The Specified nonprofit corporation, Forest Therapy Society was created to support practical forest therapy activities. Using the“Forest Therapy Base”as a domain, we provide opportunities for local businesses by linking visitors and service providers, and by training certified “Forest Therapist”and “Forest Therapy Guide”, and forest management assistance.
